To collect ideas and co-create

I have a fascination for ideas and I unconsciously collect them during the day. For example during conversations, through Twitter, in a museum or on the street: I store everything in little drawers in my head. After that, I see all sorts of connections between issues that people deal with and those collected ideas. That way I can add new, or sometimes unusual perspectives to an issue. The ideas about working and learning here below are the red thread in my ‘collection’.

Equal cooperation

What moves me at work is an equal cooperation between people, regardless of their position in the organization. I Think it’s important that everybody gets the chance to build their own future and that of the organization. At this moment I am occupied with the full deployment of young professionals. What is needed to put a young professional in his/her strength as soon as possible, so he/she can contribute something personal to the organization? On Take a Step, Frank Hulsbos, Vera Maliepaard en Eefje Teeuwisse and I have published about how to reach new perspectives in working and learning in cooperation with young professionals.

Chaos and order

In my job I like to find the space between chaos and order. Targeted creative chaos helps to innovate and a kind of “minimal structure” helps to actually realize new ideas. In this open space people can become owner of their work and their learning process. Personal strength and motivation can come to full power. I like to research the form of support that helps individuals and groups to give direction to their dreams and ambitions.

Co-creation

For this all, co-creation is the key-word: to try something new together and make something beautiful! I use all kinds of approaches and methods and also like to try something new. I often work with a form of practical research where we, with help of the research, take a step together in a new direction. For example, by inviting people to participate in the research, people that would normally not be invited for this. Or by asking real design questions and in doing so inviting people to think of new working methods.
